About the Wallen Festival
On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026, the fourth edition of the Wallen Festival will take place: a festive and wide-ranging neighbourhood festival in which residents, entrepreneurs, cultural institutions and community organisations come together to showcase the richness of Amsterdam’s historic city centre. The festival offers a varied programme of performances, guided tours, workshops, tastings and encounters across almost 100 locations throughout the Wallen and Nieuwmarkt area.
About the exhibition
With his installation Godsworth, British artist Jesse Darling transforms the church interior into a landscape constructed from building rubble, scrap metal and other materials from Amsterdam, some of which he collected himself. Darling’s work presents a world that is unstable, fragile, mutable and unfinished, raising questions about what connects people when familiar structures begin to falter.
