About Jules Reidy
Guitarist and composer Jules Reidy is one of the prominent voices in Berlin’s contemporary music scene. With an extensive body of work and international tours, Reidy has collaborated with a wide range of artists. In both recordings and performances, Reidy explores new possibilities for guitar music, with microtonality and alternative tunings playing an important role, drawing on influences from folk and minimalism among others. These elements come together in music where blurred pop melodies, experimentation and sampling meet. Reidy’s work ranges from solo guitar albums to collaborations with other musicians, including recent projects with Claire Rousay, Oren Ambarchi, Andrea Belfi and Sam Dunscombe, as well as composition commissions for ensembles and institutions such as the JACK Quartet and Zinc & Copper.

About Silence
The music series Silence is a programme of morning concerts. Every first Friday of the month, as the city awakens, musicians explore the centuries-old acoustics of the Oude Kerk. At the heart of the Silence series is contemporary music, where acoustic, digital, and electronic sounds merge. Following in the footsteps of Sweelinck’s walking concerts centuries ago, the audience can move through the historic architecture while engaging with the music.
