Stichting Vrienden van De Oude Kerk (Friends of the Old Church Foundation) takes care of the building's upkeep, but also encourages culture in the church, such as exhibitions and concerts. Members meet each year at one of the lectures, concerts, receptions, or the popular Saskia Breakfast.

Without support from the Friends, the Old Church could not be kept in the state that it is. Regular maintenance and restorations are needed, and there are many events that need organising. Many companies, funds, and individuals have given their support to the Old Church and made a lot possible. This support will remain essential in the future.
How to Become a Friend?
Friends can most of the time enter the church free of charge, and are given reductions to activities organised by the Foundation. There is a special 'friends activity' at least twice a year. On 9 March, when the sun shines directly onto the grave of Rembrandt's Saskia, the Saskia Breakfast is held in the church.
